Popular themes

Dinosaur pages range from a cute baby dino hatching to a roaring T. rex. Vehicle pages include trucks, tractors, trains, airplanes and monster trucks with giant tires. Space fans can color rockets, astronauts and planets, and sports pages cover soccer, football, basketball and baseball.

Robots, dragons and sharks round things out for kids who like a bit of adventure.

Any kid, any page

These themes reflect what is popular, not rules. Many boys love unicorns, butterflies and kawaii food, and many girls love dinosaurs and race cars. Let your child explore the whole site and pick the pictures that excite them.

Mixing themes is fun too: a dinosaur driving a tractor or a robot playing soccer only needs a little imagination.

Choosing by age

For ages 3 to 5, pick a single truck, rocket or dinosaur with big shapes. Kids around 6 to 8 enjoy a scene with a background, like a tractor on a farm or a rocket blasting past planets. Older kids often like detailed robots, dragons and sports action where they can add shading and team colors.

Kids who get restless with coloring often stick with it longer when the subject is something they love, so let them choose.

Turn coloring into play

Ask your child to color a sports page in their favorite team's colors, design a custom paint job for a race car, or give a robot a control panel with buttons and lights. Dinosaur and space pages are a natural lead-in to library books about fossils and planets.

Markers give vehicles bold, shiny color; colored pencils are better for shading metal and scales. Print on cardstock if the finished page is going on the wall.

Printing and supplies

Press Print on any picture or download the US Letter PDF, and choose actual size so wheels, wings and dinosaur spikes do not get cut off at the edges. Regular printer paper is fine for crayons and colored pencils; switch to heavier paper for markers.

Younger kids do well with chunky crayons and washable markers. Older kids who want realistic metal, scales or grass can layer colored pencils: start light, then add darker shades on the side away from the sun. A set of fine-tip markers is handy for numbers on race cars and jerseys.

Questions

Are these coloring pages free?
Yes. Every page is free to print at home or school, with a US Letter PDF for each picture and no sign-up.
Can I color them online?
Yes, for the pictures marked Online. Open one, pick a color and tap a shape to fill it, on a phone, tablet or computer. There is no app to install and no sign-up. The rest are printable only.
Can girls color these pages too?
Of course. This collection groups popular themes, but any kid can enjoy any page. Let children pick whatever they like.
Which pages are easiest for preschool boys?
Look for a single vehicle, rocket or cute dinosaur with thick outlines and few small parts. Busy scenes are better for kids 6 and up.
Do you have characters from cartoons or video games?
No. Every picture is original art, so you will find our own trucks, robots and dinosaurs rather than licensed characters.
